Thanks for visiting the home of Gameinsight Productions on the web! Come, take a seat, rest a while. Here, you will find the home of many different gaming related ventures and projects, syndicated on WikiGameGuides.com, N4G.com, and some on georgetownradio.com.
The Com-cast is a biweekly podcast that runs an average of 90 minutes. Alex and Simon (with the occasional guest) sit down and analyze some of the most substantial, though not necessarily the latest, trends and issues that involve or affect the gaming world at large in a casual and conversational way.
The Weekend Short-Takes are a weekly news wrap-up, covering 5-7 of the most interesting or eventful news stories of the past week, but is not merely a laundry list report. Instead, a panel of gaming enthusiasts take an in-depth look at them, carefully sorting through the potential ramifications on the industry and gamers alike in a short and digestible manner.
Mindshare is a more traditional editorial type of content.
Why? Because the topics covered don’t quite fit into a podcast topic, which predominantly
consider larger trends in the industry as a whole, and they aren’t part of the
Weekend Short-Takes, since it isn’t news either. Thus, once a month we will
take a question or a major issue in the industry and try to come up with new responses to it or a careful exposition of the issue at hand to prompt a discussion about it.
Synoptic Sitreps are Sparknotes for some of the biggest game franchises, so whether you are looking at jumping into a new series, or have played some of the games and don't understand what's going on, these will help you navigate your way through the complex narratives. There is no set schedule on which they are released, but a new Sitrep or a major revision to an existing one are usually released every 10 Com-casts or so.
The Natural Double d20s is an adjunct partnership on WGTB, georgetownradio.com. Hosted in part by Gameinsight co-founder Simon Wu, each week he and his fellow hosts discuss video game news, nerd culture, and play music related to the topic of discussion. The show airs and can be listened to live on the Internet every Saturday evening from 7 to 8 PM EST.
We are continually working on new ideas about how to sort out the rapidly growing and complicating beast that is the gaming industry, and figuring out ways to piece it together meaningfully.
